Part of the book series: Progress in Botany/Fortschritte der Botanik ((BOTANY,volume 48))

Abstract

As already pointed out in the latest issues of the series, the drastic changes in plant cover and vegetation composition in different regions and countries have produced an increasing number of publications analyzing the causes of these changes in the attempt to develop possible methods to stop or limit destruction of and undesirable changes in the vegetation cover. A new detailed red list of endangered syntaxa has been prepared for the DRG (KNAPP et al. 1985).
