Abstract
The ever-increasing amount of organic micropollutants emitted from industry and households into our environment may endanger the functioning of ecosystems and the health of man. The evaluation of the ecotoxicological impact of the organic micropollutants calls for an assessment of the combined accumulation, advection, diffusion, and reaction processes which determine the exposure of the biota to the organic micropollutants within the ecosystems.
