Abstract

Several surgical options exist for treating cases of malignant destruction of the proximal humerus:

  1. 1.

Amputation - either disarticulation at the shoulder joint or interscapulothoracic amputation [1, 4, 5, 6, 9]

  2. 2.

    Resection without replacement [2, 3]

  3. 3.

Resection followed by prosthetic replacement [7, 8]
