Zusammenfassung

Dieses Kapitel soll dem Kliniker zeigen, inwieweit die urodynamischen Untersuchungen in der Lage sind, zur Verbesserung von Diagnose und Therapie beizutragen. Dies ist prinzipiell auf 4 verschiedenen Wegen möglich:

  1. 1.

    Im individuellen Fall kann die urodynamische Untersuchung im Rahmen der klini-schen Abklärung dazu dienen, objektive Kriterien zur Grundlage einer therapeutischen Entscheidung zu machen.

  2. 2.

    Durch Analyse bestimmter Patientengruppen können im Laufe der Zeit nicht nur Fortschritte im Verständnis der Pathophysiologie verschiedenster Erkrankungen erzielt werden, sondern auch in der Patientenselektion für die unterschiedlichen therapeutischen Modalitäten.

  3. 3.

    Behandlungsergebnisse lassen sich durch urodynamische Untersuchungen vor und nach Therapie objektivieren.

  4. 4.

    Urodynamische Untersuchungen dienen letztlich der kontinuierlichen klinischen Forschung.
