Neuromuscular Organization and Pharmacology
The neural commands generated by the stomatogastric ganglion are translated into behavior by the stomach muscles. The machinery for this translation comprises the principcal components of the neuromuscular system viz. muscle fibers, motoneurons and neuromuscular synapses. How these components are organized to perform their function is one objective of this chapter, while the other objective is to evaluate the pharmacology of synaptic transmission and modulation of the stomach neuromuscular system.
