The Protective Mechanism of Iloprost in Several Models of Jeopardizing Ischemia in the Myocardium

  • Conference paper
Prostacyclin and Its Stable Analogue Iloprost

Abstract

Iloprost is well-known in protecting myocardial tissue in a number of ischemic conditions, as has been demonstrated by many authors [1–3]. Beneficial effects of prostacyclin in acute myocardial ischemia have been previously described [4]. The primary mode of action remains unclear, and therefore we investigated this matter by comparing several animal models and by using different types of drugs.
