Zusammenfassung
Acetaldehyd entsteht als Oxidationsprodukt beim enzymatischen Abbau des Äthanols in der Leber. Eine der frühesten Mitteilungen über das Vorkommen des Acetaldehyds im menschlichen Organismus ist eine Arbeit von Stepp aus dem Jahre 1920, der den Acetaldehyd in den Körperflüssigkeiten einiger Ärzte nachwies, „die zur Feier der gut bestandenen Staatsprüfung größere Dosen Alkohols zu sich genommen hatten…“.
