Abstract
Among the previously announced contents of Part III describing the interactions between both types of factors which are expressed in a particular field of host-parasite relationships, i.e., Yersinia infection (Introduction to Part I, p. 1), the host factors constituting the individual counterpart facet in the integrated host-defense mechanisms are the target for the function of each virulence factor. Therefore, they were delineated in the sections for each virulence factor in Chap. 2, Part III. In this chapter the changes of the host components caused by Yersinia infection are to be described.
