Zusammenfassung
In der Diagnostik der Krankheiten des Gastrointestinaltraktes sind endoskopische und röntgenologische Verfahren die Methoden der Wahl. Für die Sonographie stellten diese Krankheiten in der Routinediagnostik bisher keine Indikation dar, auch wenn in den vergangenen Jahren wiederholt sonographische Befunde, vor allem bei malignen und chronisch entzündlichen Erkrankungen, beschrieben wurden [4,11,12,13,16]. Ursache waren vor allem die Beeinträchtigung der Untersuchung durch Darmgase und Wiederholungsechos und die verhältnismäßig geringe Auflösung der Transducer. Unter den heute verbesserten technischen Voraussetzungen vermag die Sonographie jedoch auch im Bereich des Gastrointestinaltraktes einen sinnvollen Beitrag zur Diagnostik zu leisten.
