Zusammenfassung

Gewichtsverluste, eine negative Stickstoffbilanz und eine Reihe metabolischer Veränderungen, die zusammengefaßt als Postaggressionsstoffwechsel bezeichnet werden, sind nach schweren Traumen oder im Zusammenhang mit septischen Krankheitsprozessen zu beobachten. Postoperativ sind die gleichen Veränderungen v. a. nach ausgedehnten operativen Eingriffen nachzuweisen und dann, wenn das Operationstrauma mit einer Unterbrechung oder Behinderung der normalen Nahrungsaufnahme einhergeht [4, 12, 17, 19, 23, 25, 34, 40]. Da das Körpergewicht eines gesunden Menschen Auskunft über seine Kalorienbilanz gibt, lag es nahe zu untersuchen, inwieweit die Abnahme des Körpergewichts nach Operationen, Unfällen oder infolge konsumierender Erkrankungen als Maß eines Energiedefizits zu werten ist.
