Abstract
May I first of all express my thanks to Professor Lawin for inviting me to give this first Rudiger Beer memorial lecture. I feel very privileged to have been asked to address this Symposium and I am particularly happy that it gives me an opportunity to put before you not only some of my own thoughts and cogitations on today’s topic about new drugs and techniques in anaesthesia, but also to quote some other distinguished scientists and eminent anaesthetists.
