Zusammenfassung

Wegen seines raschen Wirkungseintrittes und seiner kurzen Wirkungsdauer ist Succinylbischolin über viele Jahre hindurch als das Muskelrelaxans der Wahl für die Durchführung der endotrachealen Intubation angesehen und weltweit angewandt wor-den. Wegen seiner seit langem bekannten Nebenwirkungen, wie Bradyarrhythmien, Hyperkaliämie und Steigerung des intraokulären Druckes (Bowman [5], Durant und Katz [7]), sind in letzter Zeit verschiedene Anästhesisten dazu übergegangen, Succinylbischolin zur endotrachealen Intubation nicht mehr anzuwenden und die gesamte Relaxation mit Nicht-Depolarisationsblockern durchzuführen.
