Abstract

The introduction of sonography and computerized tomography (CT) resulted in drastic changes in the strategy of diagnosing renal masses. The excretory urogram combined with conventional tomography and angiography represented the classical equipment of imaging renal tumors. Sonography and CT not only complement these and thus extend the possibility of detecting renal masses, but additionally they lead to a reorientation in the diagnostic decision.
