Abstract
Color blood flow imaging (CBFI) - as this method will be called in the following chapters - is the subject of this book. It is characterized by many fascinating features, which will be shown in a variety of examples and demonstrate that this noninvsive and harmless method can give important diagnostic information. The reliability of its qualitative and semi-quantitative results equals that of the invasive and much more risky method of angiocardiography. Additionally, it offers the option of a comprehensive integration of the various Doppler methods (i. e., single gate pulsed Doppler, continuous wave Doppler) into a very effective diagnostic concept which is easy to understand and quick to learn.
