Conference paper

Until now endoscopic retrograde pancreatography (ERP) has been considered contraindicated in cases of hemorrhagic necrotizing pancreatitis. Because acute pancreatitis is regarded as a typical though rare complication of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), it appeared unreasonable to perform such an examination in the presence of an already existing pancreatic necrosis.
