Abstract
Immunologic development places critical focus on the neonatal and premature periods. Development of the cellular bases of immunologic processes is ongoing all through life. It is, of course, only one component of the constantly developing hematologic system. The constant development of hematologic and immunological cells must continue throughout life if individuality is to be preserved and if the bodily defense against all manner of potentially invasive organisms is to be effective and the tasks of carrying oxygen are to be fulfilled.
