Zusammenfassung
Die Eihaut ist das für den Austausch des Fruchtwassers und die Anpassung der Fruchtwassermenge an die Bedürfnisse des Fetus wichtigste Organ. Diese Bedürfnisse sind andere für den kleinen Fetus mit permeabler Haut und seiner noch kaum entwickelten Fähigkeit zu schlucken oder Urin zu produzieren als für den größeren Fetus mit einer für Wasser undurchlässig gewordenen Haut, mit der neu gewonnenen Schluckfähigkeit seines Schlundes und der Resorptionsmöglichkeit des Magen-Darm-Traktes, mit der Exkretionsfunktion seiner Nieren. Die Dynamik des Flüssigkeitsaustausches zwischen dem Fetus und der inneren Oberfläche der Amnionhöhle muß sich mit dem Fortschreiten der Schwangerschaft entsprechend den gewandelten Bedürfnissen des wachsenden und reifenden Fetus ändern. Wahrscheinlich bilden fetale Lunge und Amnionepithel zumindest im 3. Trimenon eine funktionale Einheit. Es ist eine noch nicht entschiedene Frage, ob die aus dem Fruchtwasser isolierbaren Phospholipide in der fetalen Lunge oder im Amnionepithel gebildet werden oder an beiden Stellen. Sie könnten durch Exozytose aus dem Amnionepithel in das Fruchtwasser abgegeben werden (Schmidt et al. 1982).
