Small-Bowel Transplantation

Abstract

Small intestine for total small-intestinal allografts can only be obtained from cadaveric donation, and graft-vs-host disease is liable to be a major problem in the recipient. Segmental small-intestinal allografts do not induce graft-vs-host disease and can be taken from living or dead donors.
