Creating Graphical Output
Pictures which are produced solely by output functions, without interaction with an operator, are referred to as passive output. The application programmer checks the result of his graphics program by looking at the output picture and changing the program if he wishes to have a different result. The opposite of passive output is interactive computer graphics (see Chapter 10). According to the type of output device used, output can be classified as line graphics or raster graphics.
