Zusammenfassung
Neben Blutungen sind Infektionen für die schwerwiegendsten Komplikationen und am häufigsten für den Tod von Patienten mit akuten Leukämien verantwortlich [2, 19, 45]. Die starke Infektionsanfälligkeit ist Folge der Granulozytopenie, die durch die Grunderkrankung und durch die zytostatische Therapie bedingt ist [2, 7]. Anämien lassen sich durch Transfusionen gut korrigieren. Eine Verringerung des Infektionsrisikos durch Granulozytenersatz ist schwierig, da durch Granulozytentransfusion viele Nebenwirkungen, wie eine erhöhte Häufigkeit von Zytomegalieinfektionen und pulmonale Reaktionen, und insbesondere auch eine rasche Alloimmunisierung, hervorgerufen werden [39, 88]. Andererseits erscheinen prophylaktische Granulozytengaben nur wenig effektiv [88].
