Zusammenfassung

Die Fetoskopie ist eine endoskopische Methode, die es erlaubt, den Fetus und die Plazenta im 2. Trimenon der Schwangerschaft direkt zu betrachten und unter kontinuierlicher Sicht fetale Proben (Blut, Leber, Haut) zur pränatalen Diagnostik zu entnehmen. Der Begriff wurde Anfang der 70er Jahre von Scrimgeour [40] eingeführt und stellt eine Verschmelzung des lateinischen Wortes „Fetus“ mit dem griechischen Wort für „betrachten“ (σкοπειω)dar.
