Zusammenfassung

Seit der Erstbeschreibung einer traumatischen Zwerchfellruptur durch Ambrois Pare [36] im Jahr 1840 haben sich zahlreiche Autoren mit diesem Krankheitsbild, seiner Klassifikation, Pathogenese, Diagnostik und chirurgischen Therapie befaBt. 1853 beschrieb Bowditch [6] eine derartige Verletzung bei einem 17jahrigen Mann und trug aus der damaligen Weltliteratur 88 vergleichbare Falle zusammen. Erst 29 Jahre spater berichtete Ricolfi [40] uber die erste erfolgreiche Versorgung einer Zwerchfellstichverletzung sowie Walker [47] liber den ersten transabdominalen VerschluB einer linksseitigen posttraumatischen Zwerchfellruptur.
