Abstract
From the biomechanical point of view in vivo ligament replacement has to have a sufficient utimate rupture strength and fatigue strength, as well the elastic properties similar to the normal ligament. These properties were tested in a braided carbon fiber ligament prosthesis used to replace the MCL and ACL in sheep knees.
