Abstract
It was not widely recognized until arthroscopy became a routine procedure that the medial synovial plica could be a cause of discomfort and disability. Many surgeons still doubt its existence as a pathological entity, and the purpose of this study was to investigate the anatomical, clinical and pathological features of the medial synovial shelf.
