Das Verhältnis der Psychiatrie zu ihren Nachbardisziplinen

Zusammenfassung

Welche Rolle spielt die kognitive Verhaltenstherapie (KVT) für depressive Patienten, für die psychotherapeutische Versorgung innerhalb der Psychiatrie? Wie wohl für jede psychotherapeutische Methode ergibt sich dies aus der Beantwortung der folgenden drei Fragen:

1. Kann ihre Wirksamkeit im Sinne psychopathologischer Besserung, im Sinne von Wiederherstellung der Arbeits- und Genußfähigkeit, gezeigt werden?

2. Kann sie einen Beitrag leisten zur Frage der Rezidivprophylaxe, zur Verhinderung von Chronifizierung?

3. Ist sie kombinierbar mit Psychopharmaka, und wenn ja, mit welchem Effekt? Die Effektivität psychotherapeutischer Methoden in der Behandlung affektiver Störungen ist erst seit kurzem untersucht worden, seit international akzeptierte Standardkriterien für die psychiatrische Diagnostik existieren, seit der Entwicklung reliabler und valider Maße für den Therapieerfolg und seit der Entwicklung präzise definierter therapeutischer Methoden und diese spezifizierende Therapiemanuale.
