Prospects of Exploitation of Insect Antijuvenile Hormones for Selective Insect Control

Approaches to New Leads for Insecticides

Part of the book series: Proceedings in Life Sciences ((LIFE SCIENCES))

Abstract

Much has been written on future approaches and strategies critical in the discovery process of novel, insect-specific insecticidal and insectostatic chemicals (Geissbühler 1981, Croft 1981, Menn and Henrick 1984). The fact that the Schering Corporation has dedicated this symposium to new approaches to “lead generation for insecticides” indicates the strength of the commitment that Schering, and currently several other major industrial concerns, have made to the field of crop, animal and human health protection.
