Von manchen Klinikern wird die Endophthalmitis, sei sie nun steril oder infektiöser Genese nicht zur Gruppe der „Uveitiden“ gezählt. Nach unserer Meinung ist sie jedoch eine derart wichtige Ursache der intraokularen Entzündung, daß sie bei einer Besprechung der Uveitiden nicht fehlen darf.
