Zusammenfassung
Seit längerer Zeit ist bekannt, daß bei mehr als 60% der Patienten mit multiplem Myelom infolge des sekundären Immundefektes gehäuft Infektionen auftreten [1]. Große Sektionsstatistiken haben gezeigt, daß bei etwa 50% der Patienten mit multiplem Myelom bakterielle Infektionen die unmittelbare Todesursache darstellen [2]. Hierbei handelt es sich nach früheren Untersuchungen in mehr als 80% der Fälle um gramnegative Infektionen [3].
