Zusammenfassung
Die endoskopische Inspektion des Gastrointestinaltraktes dient primär der Schleimhautdiagnostik. Von tieferen Wandschichten ausgehende Prozesse können allenfalls erahnt, hinsichtlich einer Organzuordnung bei Impressionen nur spekulativ zugeordnet werden. Nachdem jedoch über 90% aller pathologischen Prozesse im Bereich des Verdauungstraktes von der Mukosa ihren Ausgang nehmen, hat die Endoskopie als primärdiagnostisches Verfahren die Radiologie als indirekte Methode im oberen Trakt sowie im Kolon weitgehend abgelöst.
