Abstract
If the pupils are abnormal in width, form, reaction to light, and accommodation/near sight, and if in addition proprioceptive reflexes, at least ankle jerks, are absent, many doctors will suspect syphilitic disease of the nervous system. There are, however, at least three other conditions to be considered.
