Part of the book series: Handbook of Experimental Pharmacology ((HEP,volume 79))

Abstract

It was mentioned earlier that the introduction of hydrophobic adamantyl radicals into the structure of depolarizing agents turns them into nondepolarizing ones (Chap. 4). This principle laid the basis for the synthesis of N-adamantyl analogs of succinylcholine and decamethonium called respectively, diadonium and dec-adonium (Kharkevich 1970 a, b). These agents were synthesized at the Institute of Pharmacology, of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences, Moscow.
