Zusammenfassung
Die klinische Symptomatik des Dumpingsyndroms nach resezierenden Eingriffen am Magen setzt sich aus gastrointestinalen und kardiovaskulären vasomotorischen Symptomen zusammen. Beim Frühdumpingsyndrom treten die Symptome in charakteristischer Reihenfolge auf:

Vasomotorische und kardiovaskuläre Symptome stehen zunächst im Vordergrund. Innerhalb von 5–10 min nach Nahrungsaufnahme klagen die Patienten über ein Völlegefühl im Epigastrium, gefolgt von einem charakteristischen Flush, einer ausgeprägten Blässe, Schwitzen und einem Schwächegefühl. Sind die vasomotorischen Symptome nach ca. 20–30 min weitgehend abgeklungen, überwiegt die gastrointestinale Symptomatik mit Übelkeit, Erbrechen und Diarrhöen. Bei Patienten mit Spätdumpingsyndrom tritt 2–3 h nach einer Mahlzeit ein Symptomenkomplex auf, der Schwäche, Hungergefühl und profuses Schwitzen beinhaltet. Die Symptome des Spätdumpingsyndroms ähneln sehr den vasomotorischen Symptomen einer Hypoglykämie.
