Zusammenfassung
Die chirurgische Therapie von Magen- und Duodenalulzera resultiert aus den Erkenntnissen der Forschungstätigkeit vieler Generationen. Die scheinbare Einfachheit und Klarheit der heutigen Ulcus-duodeni-Behandlung lassen nichts vermuten von dem langen Weg bis zum heutigen, ätiopathogenetisch fundierten Therapiekonzept. Am Wandel der Ulkustherapie läßt sich exemplarisch nachvollziehen, wie ein Krankheitsbild und seine chirurgische Therapie durch sukzessive Erforschung der physiologischen Grundlagen sowie durch die Weiterentwicklung diesbezüglich adaptierter Operationsverfahren verändert wird.
