Delineation of Cortical Areas in Nissl- and Myelin-Stained Sections

  • Chapter
The Cortex of the Rat

Abstract

The rat brains from which the sections presented in the micrographs in this section (Figs. 55–67) were taken were processed differently than the brains in the Paxinos and Watson (1982) atlas. Most of the brains used in the present atlas came from animals placed in the stereotaxic apparatus after being perfused with fixative.
