Zusammenfassung
Durch die Einführung der Chemunukleolyse mit Chymopapain wurde das therapeutische Spektrum der Behandlung lumbaler Bandscheibenvorfälle in den letzten Jahren wesentlich erweitert. Intradiskal appliziertes Chymopapain führt, durch seine selektive Wirkung auf den Nukleus pulposus der Bandscheibe, zu biochemischen, morphologischen und schließlich biomechanischen Veränderungen, die letztendlich in einer Dekompression der Nervenwurzel resultieren [1,4].
