Zusammenfassung
Im Prinzip können, vom Lachgas abgesehen, mit modernen Inhalationsänasthetika wie Halothan oder Enfluran alle Erfordernisse einer Narkose (Hypnose, Analgesie, Muskelrelaxation, vegetative Dämpfung) zumindest partiell erfüllt werden. Vorrangige Bedeutung haben für den Kliniker aber zweifellos die beiden ersten, nämlich Schlaferzeugung und Schmerzfreiheit. Diese werden des- halb zunächst besprochen, bevor die Wirkungen der volatilen Anasthetika auf verschiedene Organsysteme dargestellt werden.
