Zusammenfassung

In den letzten Jahren ist das Spektrum der zur geburtshilfli­chen Anasthesie geeigneten Substanzen nicht durch neue Medikamente bereichert worden. Vielmehr wurden durch das bessere Verstandnis pathophysiologischer Zusammenhänge sowie eine genauere Kenntnis der pharmakokinetischen Daten bereits bekannter Substanzen Möglichkeiten fur eine Optimierung der Narkoseverfahren aufgezeigt. Fortschritte im Bereich der Gerätetechnik und der apparativen Ausstattung in den entsprechenden Bereichen erlau- ben ein erheblich verbessertes Monitoring von Mutter und Kind.
