Zusammenfassung
Die kulturelle Isolierung von Chlamydia (C.) trachomatis bei nicht-gonorrhoischer Urethritis (NGU) ist nur unter folgenden Voraussetzungen möglich: 1. Urethralsekret sollte aus der vorderen Harnröhre oder dem Meatus urethrae mit einem Wattetupfer oder einer kalibrierten Platinöse unter Mitnahme von Harnröhrenzellen entnommen werden (Mårdh et al. 1981). 2. Zur Aufbewahrung bis zur endgültigen mikrobiologischen Verarbeitung ist ein geeignetes Transportmedium notwendig (Weidner et al., 1982). 3. Das Material muß sofort gekühlt (4 °C) und nach spätestens 24 Stunden in flüssigem Stickstoff bis zur Verimpfung in Zellkulturen konserviert werden (Mårdh et al. 1982). 4. Die Anzüchtung von C. trachomatis in Cycloheximid-behandelten McCoy-Zellen gewährleistet die beste mikrobiologische Ausbeute (Ripa und Mårdh 1977).
