Part of the book series: Bayer-Symposium ((BAYER-SYMP,volume 9))

Abstract

The purpose of this chapter is to review some of the recent studies on the characterization of 1,4-dihydropyridine receptors (DHPRs). In this respect the chapter will complement the contributions of Glossmann, Nayler and Schwartz (this volume) and the previously published reviews of 1,4-dihydropyridine (DHP) binding studies (Meyer et al. 1983; Janis and Triggle 1984; Triggle and Janis 1984).

Research from the University of Connecticut and the State University of New York at Buffalo was supported, in part, by Grants HL 07420, HL 16003, HL 21812 and HL 32588
