Zusammenfassung
Die soziale und emotionale Entwicklung gehört zu den Randbereichen der psychologischen Diagnostik. Entsprechende Verfahren sind insgesamt sehr viel seltener zu finden als Tests, die verschiedene Aspekte der kognitiven Entwicklung zum Gegenstand haben. In bezug auf die ersten Lebensjahre, auf die sich dieser Band beschränkt, ist die Auswahl besonders spärlich, zumal einige Skalen nicht in Form eigenständiger spezieller Entwicklungstests erscheinen, sondern als Subskalen in allgemeine Entwicklungstests eingearbeitet sind (vgl. hierzu Kap. 2). Somit kommt Reinert (1971, S. 291) zu der Auffassung, daß es nur einen „einzigen bekannten Test zur Erfassung der Sozialentwicklung“ gebe, nämlich die Vineland Social Maturity Scale von Doll (vgl. S.6ff.). Auch in der neueren Öbersicht zu den gängigen Entwicklungstests von Filipp und Doenges (1983) wird nur dieses eine Verfahren genannt. Andere Testkompendien vernachlässigen den Bereich der sozialen und emotionalen Entwicklung sogar völlig (z. B. Schmidtchen, 1975).
