Zusammenfassung

Im Rahmen kardiologischer Rehabilitationsprogramme werden häufig Entspannungsverfahren angeboten (Hackett u. Cassem 1982). Dieses Vorgehen ererscheint sinnvoll, da Entspannung zu einer Verminderung von Ängsten in der ersten Zeit nach dem Infarkt beitragen kann und zudem der inneren Unruhe, die mit psychosozialen Risikosituationen und dem koronargefährdenden Verhaltensmuster einhergeht, entgegenzuwirken vermag. Darüber hinaus können Entspannungsverfahren hilfreich für den Patienten sein, wenn der Genesungsprozeß verzögert oder unvollständig verläuft oder wenn während dieses Prozesses Beschwerden auftreten (Doehrman 1977; Mayou et al. 1978). Dennoch gibt es nur wenige Veröffentlichungen öber Entspannungstraining mit Herzinfarktpatienten im Vergleich zu Studien mit Patienten, die an anderen streßbedingten Symptomen leiden (z. B. Tachykardie, Schlaflosigkeit, Kopfschmerzen, Hypertonie).
