Normal Fetal Anatomy in the Second and Third Trimester

  • Chapter
Ultrasound Diagnosis in Obstetrics and Gynecology

Abstract

The key to successful ultrasound diagnosis lies in the ability to obtain a detailed image in which a maximum of anatomic information is presented. The examiner must know the complete spectrum of “normal” sonographic findings, and he must be able to demonstrate them adequately. Only in this way will he consistently be able to recognize fetal abnormalities and measure fetal structures with the necessary degree of accuracy.
