Surface Epithelia. Simple Columnar Epithelium. Example: Collecting Tubule of the Rat Kidney

  • Radivoj V. Krstić

In the upper part of the plate, an interlobular artery (1) is depicted with an afferent (2) and efferent (3) arteriole. A nephron, the parts of which arerenal corpuscle (4), proximal tubule (5), thin segment (6), distal tubule (7), and connecting portion (8)—is joined to a collecting tubule (9), which is lined with simple columnar epithelium (10).
