Abstract
The chondrocrania of two sibling Cryptoprocta ferox embryos were examined using a wax-plate model at 25 times linear magniflcation. A model of the whole chondrocranium with larynx and dermal bones of the right-hand side and a model of the right nasal capsule were made from the same series of sections. For comparison, two equally old (sibling) heads of Paradoxurus hermaphrodites (a genus which had never before been examined) were also sectioned — one transversely, the other sagittally, as for Cryptoprocta.
