Abstract
Double contrast represents a considerable advance for the diagnosis of Colitis. It makes possible the detection of early signs, diagnosis of the etiology with a good margin of security, and clear definition of the limits of the disease’s extension. Inflammatory Colitis is above all a disease of the colonic mucosa. Its early diagnosis depends on the evaluation of indirect signs and especially on direct evidence of the mucosal injury shown by double contrast.
