Morphology of Early Gastric Cancer and Related Subjects

Abstract

Early gastric cancer (EGC) is defined as a cancer whose growth is limited to the gastric mucosa (mucosal cancer) or invades the submucosa but not the muscularis propria (submucosal cancer), regardless of the size and shape of the cancer (Fig. 27).
