Some Proposals Concerning the Mathematical Modelling of Oscillating Heterogeneous Catalytic Reactions on Metal Surfaces

  • Conference paper

Part of the book series: Springer Series in Synergetics ((SSSYN,volume 29))

Abstract

The experimental study and the interpretation of complex temporal phenomena such as oscillations, multistability and chaotic behavior in heterogeneous catalytic reactions (mostly oxidation reactions) has drawn increasing attention in recent years. The mathematical modelling was found to provide new insights into the fundamental processes of heterogeneous catalysis on metals and supported metal catalysts [1–13].
