Der um 1680 in Breslau lebende Chirurgus und Stadtarzt Matthäus Gothofredus Purmannus führte als Wappen ein rotes Herz, auf dessen Oberteil sich eine aufrechtstehende Hand befand mit der Überschrift: „Et corde et manu“ — „Mit Herz und Hand!“
