Zusammenfassung
In dem Projekt GOLEM-XT wird ein klassisches Information Retrieval System (IRS) um Direktänderungsfunktionen erweitert, die primär Datenbanksystemen (DBS) zuzuordnen sind. Es werden verschiedene Alternativen untersucht, bei denen auf dem relationalen DBS SESAM aufgesetzt wird. Einige technische Aspekte der gewählten Lösung werden genauer betrachtet. Die bisherigen Ergebnisse, die in den folgenden Projektphasen zu präzisieren sind, zeigen, daß sinnvoll auf einem DBS aufgesetzt werden kann, wenn passende Funktionen des DBS effizient genutzt werden.
In the project GOLEM-XT a classical information retrieval system (IRS) will be extended by on line update functions that are primary functions of a data base management system (DBMS). Different alternatives to put the IRS on top of the relational DBMS SESAM are investigated. Some technical aspects of the chosen solution are discussed in detail. The actual results that will become more precisely in the next phases of the project show, that it is reasonable to put an IRS on top of a DBMS, if well matched functions of the DBMS are used effectively.
