Summary
Lymphoszintigraphy with 99Technetium-antimony-colloid was established during the last years to predict the direction of lymphogenic metastases in truncal melanoma. Depending on the primary localisation of the tumor in 35% of 84 cases 99mTc-AC was drained exclusively to one nodal group. In 53% of our cases we identified two (37%) or even more endangered groups of lymphatic nodes. 12% of our patients showed no evident drainage of intradermal injected 99mTc-AC near the primary site of the tumor. In 84% the lymphatic drainage correlated with Sappey’s lines. 7 melanomas actuary metastasized in regional lymph node-groups, in 5 cases (71%) the predicted region was affected. Three other patients suffered from transit metastases near the localisation which had been marked by 99mTc-AC.
